Topping off the world-changing Nike Off White collaboration, Virgil Abloh will be releasing the final sneakers from ‘The Ten’, the Off White Air Max 90.
“The End” or is it?
Virgil Abloh has had quite a run with Nike since November 2017. He started by dropping white sneakers with black Swooshes and later traded the white sneakers for black ones with the white Swoosh. He also added colorful shoes here and there when we least expected. Over a year later, and more than 10 shoes later, we’re not sure how to feel now that the collaboration will come to an end.
Abloh took to his Instagram story to break the news stating,
“small fact: personally i’m visually obsessed with the combination of black sneaker / white swoosh white laces. hence every edition of the last “10” came as such.”
The world fell in love with the Off White sneakers when they first debuted. But Nike and Virgil Abloh started to oversaturate the line way past 10 sneakers as originally planned. Even toddler sizes were made.
While it’s nice that more people could get their hands on Off Whites, it’s not great for the reselling business. Just compare the prices of “The Ten” Part 1 and “The Ten” Part 2. Maybe it’s time to let go.
Off White Nike Air Max 90
Everyone is anticipating the Off White Air Max 90, but there may be an even bigger reason to cop this drop. The reason lies in the question, Could the Air Max 90 be the last Nike Off White drop?
Two colorways of this silhouette will be dropping, the “Black” and the “Desert Ore”. Presumably, both will be releasing on the same day for the same price. But we’ll just have to wait and see how this will play out.
- Release Date: January 17, 2019
- Retail Price: $160 USD
You’ll be able to cop the Off White Nike Air Max 90 from nike.com and the SNKRS app by using the new ANB Bot. You’ll also have the chance to cop from select Nike retailers by running AIO Bot.
Update: According to @py_news the release date has been changed to the 7th of February.
