Every Yeezy 500 ever made.. And Soft Vision!

This November, Adidas, and Kanye are spoiling the sneaker industry with a variety of Yeezys after a Yeezy-less October! That’s of course if the Yeezy 700 “Teal Blue” doesn’t drop on October 26. Two of the upcoming drops are going to be Yeezy 500 sneakers. Yeezy 500 are the 5th silhouette to release after the 750, 350, 350 V2 and 700. You might say that the 500s are just ugly “dad shoes”, but.. Oh who are we kidding? They are! However, people seem to be into it, so why not make them?

    Yeezy 500 colorways

The interesting thing about the Yeezy 500 line is that they ditched the Boost technology and opted for adiPrene midsoles. Funnily enough, the soles of the 500s are their most interesting feature but are not new. In fact, the sole go way back to 1999 when Kobe Bryant wore the third installment of his signature adidas kicks: the KB8 III. We can see in the following picture that the KB8 III soles were altered a teeny tiny bit and used on the Yeezy 500. Now let’s go through a brief history of this silhouette and check out the upcoming Yeezy 500s.

    Yeezy 500 “Supermoon Yellow”

The initial announcements dubbed the sneakers “Yeezy Desert Rat 500”, but as time passed the name became a simple “Yeezy 500”. Yeezy season 6 revealed the first installment of the kicks. The catch was that you had to buy the whole pack (which included a hoodie and shorts) for a whopping $760 to have the sneakers. A year later though, “Supermoon Yellow” had a much wider release on its own. The “Supermoon Yellow” features -obviously- a moon yellow upper in different materials like suede and mesh.

    Yeezy 500 “Blush”

The second installment of the controversial Yeezy 500 came a year later with two different release dates. The initial release was in February 2018 during the NBA All-Star Weekend and restocked two months later! The shoes used the same upper material as their predecessors but this time the whole shoe came in a pinkish beige “Blush” shade.

    Yeezy 500 “Black”

The black colorway of the Yeezy 500 sure is something to look at. However, the shoes have two different iterations. Yes, that’s right. The Friends and Family version has a slight purple-ish hue on the suede and mesh upper while the public release is stark black! Which is why we have two different names for the sneakers. “Shadow Black” is the F&F name and the public release is dubbed “Utility Black”.

    Yeezy 500 “Salt”

Well, it’s obvious by now that Kanye has a thing for monochromatic pastel colors on the Yeezy 500. In fact, the colors fit wonderfully with the kicks’ design! The fourth drop of the Yeezy 500s features a cool light grey mesh and suede upper while maintaining the exact same silhouette. The “Salt” colorway released in the last quarter of 2018 which made it the last Yeezy 500 of the year.

    Yeezy 500 “Bone White”

2019 brought with it the latest Yeezy 500 “Bone White”. Just like its name suggests, the sneakers don a monochromatic bone white upper and sole. The coolest thing about these kicks is that they come in full family sizes! So you could match with you kids and be the coolest fam on the block.

Adidas and Kanye are both making sure sneakerheads say goodbye to 2019 by wearing the coolest kicks. Which is why we are getting the Yeezy 500 Soft Vision. The upcoming Yeezys are coming in a monochromatic pink mesh and suede upper and midsole. However, we’ll have a gum outsole to break the pinkishness of it all!

    Yeezy 500 “Stone”

If you thought we’re done with Yeezy 500, boy you’re so wrong. The Yeezy 500 isn’t over just yet and a new colorway, the Yeezy 500 “Stone”, is expected to drop sometime in November. This colorway actually bears some change in the upper. Instead of the mesh panels we’ve got cushion like neoprene panels, which reinforce the stone look. Sticking to the themes to boot! The rest of the shoe is the standard adiPrene midsole and a gum outsole. Yeezy 500 “Stone” will be the second in line to release in full family sizing.

    Yeezy 500 High “Slate”

December marked a new chapter for the 500’s. These awesome Ye’s had stored some big success with the original low-profile silhouette. But during December 2019, they were ready to move forward and take things onto new heights, literally. High-top Yeezy 500s dropped during the holiday season back in 2019, where the adidas Yeezy expanded their line with the Yeezy 500 High Slate. A first of its model, this High-top came dressed in a “Slate” colorway. The shoe featured Dark Blue neoprene-like material, Black suede overlays and the usual adiPrene soles in Sail.

    Yeezy 500 High “Tyrian”

The first of 2020, Kanye release his second high top in a new colorway. The Yeezy 500 High Tyrian arrived in May of last year in a very tempting brown and blue color scheme. Just like its former, “Slate”, materials used on the Tyrian are pretty much the same. Uppers are crafted from a combination of purplish-blue synthetics and brown cow suede. Extra on these ones is the rubber around the midsoles providing some support and scratch proofing. The cool lacing system with its futuristic vibes only got cooler with this one, with the addition of toggle closures. If you are a chunky-sneaker fan, the Tyrian is the right boot-kick for you! The pair is not only stylish, but it’s even mega comfy, thanks to the extra cushioning of those soles.

    Yeezy 500 High “Shale Warm”

Almost a year later, the adidas Yeezy 500 High returns in “Shale Warm”, as one of two colorways that dropped this February. The high-cut shoe is still constructed the same way it used to be with the same mix of neoprene, leather and suede. This time though, all materials expressed beige tones. The rubber midsoles contrasted the overall sandy look in a dark Grey tint. Both stylish and comfortable to wear, this perfect new addition was perfect for the Winter.

    Yeezy 500 High “Mist Slate”

Released along with the “Shale Warm” during February, the High Mist Slate also looks exactly the same as the original silhouette. The pair is a lighter-colored version of last year’s “Slate” iteration. The usual neoprene puffy base layer is overlapped with suede in yet another neutral tone.

    Yeezy 500 High “Frosted Blue”

Next up is April’s first Yeezy 500, High Frosted Blue. A 500 that strays away from its sisters in looks. We finally witnessed a drop from this model with a dash of color and not a neutral nor a nude. Hallelujah, Kanye! This colorway brings cream-ish suede and blue-grey leathers together on the upper of the shoe. Pops of bright blue make their way from the midfoot all the way to the collar. Soles are also in an off-white color, as well as the thick toggled laces and lacing system. Neutral lovers still get what they want, but this time with some consideration to the colorful sneakerheads.

    Yeezy 500 Enflame

On a funkier note, tomorrow is a big day for Ye’ fans. The awaited Yeezy 500 Enflame is finally dropping, with the brightest adiprene sole that could be. This low colorway is going to mix both hi-vis and earthy colors together. The usual heavy mesh is dressed in a brownish hue. Good-bye monochromatic Lows. Navy blue leather panels make their way across the middle part of the uppers, as well as the laces. A super dope lacing system is formed through large suede pods in a lighter shade of blue grey. A soft beige adorns the suede mudguard, toe box, and heel. And the ultimate highlight of this shoe: a popping bright orange midsole to finish off the design of this one. Yup, quite possibly the loudest YEEZY 500, yet.
