Ever felt envious to the core? Well, Yeezy Black and Red absolutely made us feel that way. We remember the hype and the glorious Adidas Yeezy years. And this release was right in the middle. So let’s go back a few years and discover why we (and the sneaker community) love this pair!
Yeezy Black and Red
It all started with one person: Kanye West. The Life of Pablo artist started his collaboration with Nike and dropped some iconic kicks like Red Octobers. Then, a fight over royalties ensued and Kanye left Nike for Adidas! However, that seems to usually happen the other way around, Kylie Jenner is proof enough of that. So after the brand hop, Kanye dropped some real gems, with Yeezy Boost 350 as the star.
Times change though, and so do silhouettes. So in September 2016, Adidas and Kanye introduced Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Beluga”. A month later, three new colorways dropped on the same day. One of them though managed to catch our attention without even trying! Yeezy Black and Red was the star of that little collection. The other colorways were black/green and black/copper. So technically, Yeezy black and red is exactly the second pair of the Yeezy 350 V2 silhouette! The red stripe pops out on the black Primeknit upper with the SPLY – 350 on it. Finally, the black Boost midsole further enhances this contrast.
Today’s Value of the Kicks on the Market!
Release Date: 11/23/2016
Retail Price: $220
Avg. Resale Value: $1,097
Yeezy Black and Red is actually the most successful of the bunch, reselling for more than $1,000. The green and copper colorways resell for averages of $675 and $683 respectively. Although they’re pretty good revenue on their own, Yeezy Black and Red are on another level! This is due to the fact that the colorways are awesome, and the stock was low back in the day. The less available a pair is, well… the more we want it and the more valuable it is! The supply and demand principle is what kept the Yeezy line going for a long long time.
Yeezy Black and Red Restocking in 2020?
Well, rumors are rumors. But sometimes, they end up being true! We already know that Yeezy Bred is restocking, but will this pair drop too? If that’s true, then Kanye is keeping his promise of making Yeezys available for everybody. However, according to the rumors, the pair will be “remastered”. That’s another way of saying that the restock won’t look exactly like the OG drop. The question is, will this be Kanye’s gift to us in the Holiday season? Naturally, the sneaker industry will be split between supporting the restock and worrying that it’ll ruin the line. Which side will you be on if Yeezy Black and Red actually restocks? We know we’ll be coppin’! Until then, keep it locked on our blog for the latest sneaker news!
